THE HURT LOCKER takes LAFCA prize

The Hurt Locker

Today The Hurt Locker scored its second, and probably most important win so far, this Oscar season. While the Los Angeles Film Critics Association sometimes thinks too far outside the box for Oscar’s taste (see WALL-E‘s win), The Hurt Locker‘s prize here pretty much locks it in for a Best Picture nomination. Even if it doesn’t win the top prize, I’m starting to think Kathryn Bigelow may be the one to beat in the Best Director race. (Sorry, Jason Reitman.)
