ZOMBIELAND and JACKASS sequels coming in 3D

Just when you thought 3D would be limited to animated movies, low-budget slasher flicks, and Smurf epics, two sequels are being planned that will take full advantage of the cinematic resurgence of the format.

A sequel to the hit zombie comedy Zombieland will be filmed in 3D, according to Variety. Sony is busy getting everyone signed. With $75 million in the bank, who wouldn’t? And this one could be even more fun than My Bloody Valentine in 3D, as long as more body parts are flying at the audience.

Of course, the more unlikely contender for a 3D sequel is Jackass. Paramount is said to be getting Johnny Knoxville and the gang back together for the picture. Good luck boys. I’d like to see how you make sticking a matchbox car in someone’s rectum work in 3D. On second thought…
