Fanboy hopes of Rambo vs. a Predator-esque monster movie have been dashed. In a letter to Craig Zablo’s Stallone fansite, Sly said that Rambo V is going back to what was rumored to be the original premise of John Rambo saving a young woman over the Mexican border.

Here’s what Sly to Craig:

I’m letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. RAMBO himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished .

Ever the loyal fan, Mr. Zablo keeps it positive saying he’s excited to see TWO new Stallone pictures in the future. Before Rambo V and Sly v. Predator, Stallone, of course, has The Expendables set to hit theaters next August.
