Me and Orson Welles poster featuring Zac Efron
Every once in a while, that Zac Efron Google Alert I have comes in handy. Case in point: One such alert pointed me to ScreenCrave.com, which posted the poster for one of the movies I’m most excited about this fall, Me and Orson Welles. I cannot wait for this one. First, it’s a Richard Linklater film, a director whose bad movies are still oh so good. Second, anything Orson Welles can get my attention. (He has his own Google Alert too.) And third, there’s Zac Efron, an actor in transition.
This is one of those movies that could help Efron go from teen heartthrob to legit movie star. Anyone whose seen 17 Again knows he has the chops to make it. Could this be the project that finally silences the haters?
Of course, the film gets bonus points for casting Claire Danes, too. Someday she will get the appreciation she deserves. Someday.
Me and Orson Welles, directed by Richard Linklater and starring Zac Efron, Claire Danes, and Christian McKay, hits theaters on Nov. 25.
