Top Story: What’s a Morning Report without talk of a franchise reboot? Well today comes news that Chris Pine is negotiations to play CIA agent Jack Ryan in a reboot of the Ryan franchise. Unlike the other Ryan films, this one will be based on an original idea instead of a Tom Clancy novel. (Variety)

The rights to Parks and Recreation‘s Rashida Jones’ graphic novel Frenemy of the State has been picked up by Universal and Imagine Entertainment.  Jones will write the screenplay with Will McCormack. (Variety)
