Top Story: Maybe I should file this in unnecessary prequel news, but 20th Century Fox has hired Jon Spaihts to write a prequel to the Alien franchise, with Ridley Scott attached to direct. If Scott was half the director he was when he shot the first Alien, I’d probably be more excited about this. He isn’t. So I’m not. (Variety)
