‘Kick-Ass’ gets second look from studios – TFC Morning Report
RSSS

Top Story: Looks like Comic-Con has helped Matthew Vaughn’s privately-funded adaptation of Mark Millar’s Kick-Ass.  Studios are now clamoring to see more footage from the comic book movie, which apparently “broke every taboo known to man.” The film was originally overlooked (ignored?) till fan boys went bananas when they saw clips in San Diego. No word yet on which major distributor will release the film, but be prepared for a battle to get the film onto the screen without major cuts.  This is a comic that flaunts its “sickening violence” right on its cover. In Other News: Jon Hamm and Rebecca Hall have joined Ben Affleck’s romantic crime thriller The Town.  Affleck will star in and direct the feature for Warner Bros. (THR)

Spike Jones has acquired the rights to Shane Jones’ debut novel Light Boxes, about a town that endures a 1,000-day winter. (Variety)
