God, Mo’Nique is amazing in this trailer. I can already see why she won a special jury prize acting at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
Who knows if anyone is going to see this grim tale about an abused teenager twice impregnated by her father. Still, Oprah, and Madea Tyler Perry all see something in it that they think you should see too. Lionsgate is banking on those endorsements for some box office play. After watching this trailer, I know I’m going to fork over my cash when the film hits the Cleve.
Precious opens on Nov. 6 in limited release.

I believe Oprah stamps this cuz it is as close to reality as it gets. Glamorizing the ghetto life is like making a mockery of the horrors of people like this. I think it will be a remarkable movie and I cannot wait to see it. I grew up in the ghetto’s of Detroit in the 60’s – its no joke and getting out is very very tough. This story truly depicts how the human spirit cannot be broken.
