Top Story: Spike Lee’s film adaptation of the rock musical Passing Strange will air on PBS in 2010.  Passing Strange will be part of the Great Performancesseries next year after a possible late summer or early fall theatrical run.  The film was screened this week at Tribeca. (Variety)

In Other News: Disney has purchased a stake in Hulu, meaning it will join Fox and NBC Universal on the premium streaming video site.  Look for ABC shows to start appearing soon. (Variety)

Barry Levinson will direct Sixty-Six, a coming-of-age story set in the director’s hometown of Baltimore. (THR)

Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to the Japanese manga series Death Noteand has hired writers Charley and Vlas Parlapanides to adapt. (Variety)
