Nothing irks the right more than the threat of higher taxes. So when VP candidate Sen. Joe Biden called it patriotic for people making more than $250,000 to pay more in taxes, the other team pounced. Now these are the same type of people who dogmatically clung to the notion of lower taxes while the Bush administration decided to wage an expensive war in a land most young spreaders of democracy couldn’t find on a map.
Sure, low taxes are good, especially if you’re planning to buy that 150-foot yacht you always wanted. But fighting a war with borrowed money? Well, Donald Duck has something to say about that.
