THE DESCENT’s Neil Marshall Nabs TROLL HUNTER Remake Gig
There was very little reason to get excited about the US remake of the Norwegian horror comedy Troll Hunter until a few days ago. I mean, Chris Columbus, the man behind Home Alone and Harry Potter, was on board as producer, so it looked like this fantastic foreign genre feature was about to get soft.
Well, that may not be the case after all. Director Neil Marshall, who directed the blood-soaked horror masterpiece The Descent and one of the best episodes of Game of Thrones, has come on board to helm the Hollywood version.
Hopefully this means that despite the film being about student investigating a series of “bear killings,” we won’t be subject to the tired found footage style the original was (my only real complaint about that film). Marshall’s a better director than that. In fact, he’s so good, I may actually go see this movie in a theater. Maybe.
