The TERMINATOR Sequel/Reboot Gets A Director
While we wait for the Terminator rights to revert back to James Cameron, the studios in charge now still have other movies in the works. Those next films in the sci-fi franchise are planned as new trilogy, with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to play his iconic role. But who’s in charge of the production?
It looks like Alan Taylor, the man who’s directing Thor: The Dark World and helmed episodes of Game of Thrones, is in final negotiations to direct the first sequel/reboot for Paramount Pictures, Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures. Taylor beat out other directors on the shortlist including Rain Johnson, Denis Villeneuve and for some reason, Ang Lee.
With the picture due out in 2015 and expected to begin production in early 2014, getting Taylor in place is likely a high priority. Hopefully we’ll get additional casting details, outside of Schwarzenegger, soon, too.
