The ROBCOP Remake Has A Trailer And It’s Not Worth Buying For A Dollar
Generally speaking, I won’t post movie news that I just don’t care about. That’s why you haven’t seen anything about Transformers 4 on here. But the trailer for the Robocop remake that comes out next year has been released and I can’t help but share the horror.
You see, Verhoeven’s Robocop is a masterpiece and remaking it is no different that returning to any great work of cinema. José Padilha’s RoboCop looks like the soulless, characterless product that we expect from the likes of World War Z… but not Robo.
Based on this trailer, the best case scenario we’re probably looking at is a watchable movie. Worst case… well, if I have to hear talented actors utter such incredible nonsense (“We’re putting a man in a machine.” “We are on the eve of a technological revolution.” “Alex, you need to speak to your son.”) for two hours, then I truly wouldn’t buy this for a dollar.
