Top Story: After watching Jack Donaghy so elequently describe Harry and the Hendersons on last week’s 30 Rock, I can’t think of a better co-host for TCM’s The Essentials than Alec Baldwin. Baldwin joins Robert Osbourne to discuss the classics Saturdays at 8 p.m. on TCM. (Variety)

Leighton Meester’s career has just taken the standard CW star turn.  The Gossip Girl actor is in negotiations to star in the teen thriller The Roommate. Sure, it’s not specifically a slasher film, but this crazy obsessive roommate movie might as well be. (HR)

Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard’s Cabin in the Woods just got some victims.  Kristen Connolly , Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz and Jesse Williams will join Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford in the horror film. (HR)

Jay Roach and Neal Moritz will produce a feature adaptation of the doc The Complete History of My Sexual Failures. (Variety)

New Regency signed David Ayers to write and direct Last Man from Ayers’ pitch. The futuristic actioneer will be distributed and co-financed by 20th Century Fox. (Variety)
