Joe Swanberg can be as divisive a filmmaker as he is a prolific one. I won’t drop the “m” word here because Swanberg has matured past the movement that made him famous. But he still makes movies like a true “m” spirit, churning out not one, not two but three movies this year. Drinking Buddies is listed on IMDB as his second, and the film premiered earlier this year at SXSW. This also marks his most “mainstream” movie to date. Check it out:
