DC Comics retired Superman’s red briefs with this month’s comic book relaunches. Back when the first picture of Supes sans briefs emerged I tweeted that it would be great if DC showed they had they’re stuff together, simply by having Cavill’s Superman in The Man of Steel lose the briefs too. The company has a lot to live up to if it’s ever going to compete with Marvel.

Last month, a few pictures leaked onto the internet with Cavill in the costume minus the briefs. But they weren’t great. I’m not even going to link them here.  But now better images of Cavill in the Superman costume have emerged… and they look awesome. It’s not a nipples on the batsuit upgrade. In fact, it’s a pretty spectacular revision of the costume while still paying homage to the original.

And if you’re wondering why there isn’t a cape in the pictures, it will be added later. This is Zack Snyder’s vision of Superman we’re talking about. Anything that can be added in post will be added in post.
