Almodorror – THE SKIN I LIVE IN trailer
Almodovar’s latest film doesn’t have the same bold color palette that we’ve come to expect from the director of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and All About My Mother. But we never expected Almodovar to take on a science-fiction story with horror elements either.
The Skin I Live In reteams the famed director with Antonio Banderas (their first collaboration in more than two decades). Banderas plays a doctor who has successfully developed skin that cannot burn–in mice. Secretly, he’s holding a woman hostage on his estate who serves as his human test subject.
The story actually sounds like it was made for David Cronenberg, doesn’t it? Well, take a look at Almodovar’s own potential entry into the body horror genre:
The Skin I Live In, directed by Pedro Almodovar and starring Antonio Banderas, Elena Anaya and Marisa Paredes, opens on Oct. 14.
