Martin Freeman is your Bilbo Baggins… and other THE HOBBIT casting
Martin Freeman is no longer rumored to be Bilbo Baggins.
Warner Bros. and New Line have announced that Freeman will in fact star in Peter Jackson’s upcoming adaptation of The Hobbit, just days after the studios confirmed that Jackson would take the helm.
But WB & New Line didn’t stop there. According to The Wrap:
Other castmembers — all of them to play dwarves — include Rob Kazinsky, Aidan Turner, Graham McTavish, John Callen, Stephen Hunter, Mark Hadlow and Peter Hambleton.
Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis are also expected to reprise their respective roles as the powerful wizard Gandalf and the wretch Gollum.
Richard Armitage, who is set to play the villain in The First Avenger: Captain America, will take the role of head dwarf Thorin Oakenshield.
