Sarsgaard is your GREEN LANTERN baddie
THR reports that acclaimed actor Peter Sarsgaard is in negotiations to play the supervillain Dr. Hector Hammond in Martin Campbell’s The Green Lantern. Sarsgaard joins Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, who have been respectively cast as Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris.
As a Lantern newbie, I wasn’t sure who Hector Hammond was. Wiki tells a different story than the one THR put in its article. Petty criminal versus “the pathologist son of a senator”? Well at least when you take on a B-list superhero story, you aren’t chained to some old mythology.
The Green Lantern hits theaters on June 17, 2011.
