Favreau to direct ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ – TFC Morning Report
Top Story: Jon Favreau has lined up his next directing gig, which should be a total geek-gasm. The Iron Man helmer will direct his Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr., in Cowboys & Aliens, a comic book adaptation for DreamWorks. Star Trek writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are executive producing and are also working on the script with Lost producer Damon Lindelof. (THR)
In Other News: HBO has given the greenlight to Martin Scorsese’s drama series Boardwalk Empire. (Variety)
Sony Picture Classics will distribute Amelie director Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Micmacs in the U.S. The film will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 15. (Variety)
