Ryan Reynolds gets the ring. He’s our Green Lantern.
So much for Deadpool. Multiple outlets including the trades are now saying that Ryan Reynolds is the Green Lantern. As I said this morning, I’m partial to having Reynolds in just about anything. Having him in tights? Well, let’s just saying I already went to Fandango looking to pre-order my ticket.
Reynolds isn’t an unknown. He isn’t someone fighting to comeback. He’s not a superstar (yet). He’s about where Tobey Maguire was when they cast that kid in Spider-Man. The good news is Reynolds is a better leading man than Mr. Maguire. Reynolds has that classic swagger that few Hollywood actors do. Cary Grant. Paul Newman. Brad Pitt. Even if The Green Lantern goes down in flames, as I expect any DC-related film will, Reynolds is still gonna be a star.
