Top Story: Dimension Films has hired Robot Chicken writer Dan Milano to pen the remake of the classic 80s comedy Short Circuit. Dan Foster, who produced the original, will also serve as producer of the remake. (Variety)

In Other News: Mean Girls 2 Easy A, a teen comedy about a girl who uses her school’s rumor mill to her advantage, has its cast. Emma Stone and Amanda Bynes will be joined by Lisa Kudrow, Alyson Machalka, Thomas Haden Church, Patricia Clarkson, Stanley Tucci, Penn Badgley, Cam Gigandet, Malcolm McDowell and Daniel Bird. Sigourney Weaver is filling her schedule with laughers. The actress will join Nick Frost and Simon Pegg in the comedy Paul and star in You Again with Kristen Bell. If you hadn’t noticed, neither of those comedies are Ghostbuster 3. (Variety)

Move over ComicCon. Disney is having its own expo with blackjack and hookers with exclusive footage of upcoming Disney pictures like A Christmas Carol, The Princess and the Frog, and Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. D23 Expo will be held Sept. 10-13. This begs the question: Where’s Pixar’s expo? (THR)
