Star Trek isn’t the only sci-fi epic opening this summer. Neil Blomkamp’s District 9 will hit theaters on Aug. 16.  The film appears to be a feature length version of Blomkamp’s amazing short Live in Joburg, which told the story of humans and aliens living segregated lives in Johannesburg, South Africa. Blomkamp, of course, was the choice director for the Halo film before the project fell apart. If the movie is as good as the trailer makes it out to be, even die-hard Halo fans will have to be happy with the way things turned out.
