RSSS

Top Story: Fox 2000 has acquired the rights to Patricia Cornwell’s Scarpetta book series and will develop the project with Angelina Jolie as the coroner. There are 16 books in the series and, with the right director, this could turn into a high-quality (and lucrative) franchise. (Variety)

In Other News: Kings fans, like me, will be sad to learn that NBC has pulled the retelling of the David and Saul story from its lineup just after recently moving it to Saturdays. Kings will complete its run on NBC starting on June 13.  (THR)

A Lil Wayne documentary titled The Carter will still get a release after a judge in California refused to block the picture at the rapper’s request. (Variety)

Dimension Films has acquired the spec script for the thriller Kristy. (Variety)
