Well it looks like we won’t get to see the red jumpsuit on Arrow after all, at least not this season. Rather than including a backdoor pilot for The Flash series within Arrow‘s regular season, the network has decided to give The Flash its own standalone pilot.

For months now, we’ve been told that Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) would appear in three episodes of the series Arrow, episodes 8, 9 and 20, with the last episode being the one where we would see the fastest man alive makes his debut. But after seeing initial cuts of episodes 8 and 9, CW execs decided that the Scarlet Speedster deserved a pilot of his own.

According to Deadline, the creative team of Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti, Geoff Johns and David Nutter will remain the same. But this does give the producers a chance to create a different tone for The Flash without disrupting Arrow‘s, which has always been a fan concern.
